Class Schedule and Descriptions
First time students are asked to arrive 5-10 minutes before class starts. Before each class, both new and continuing students need to let instructors know of any new or recurring injuries, so that appropriate modifications can be made to poses for your comfort and protection. Wear clothing that will comfortably move with you. If you have a mat please bring it to class. If not, mat rentals are $1.00 per class. We also have a limited supply of straps, blocks and blanket props for your use. It is recommended that you practice on an empty, or nearly empty stomach for your comfort. We also ask that you leave your cellphone in the car, or turn it to silent-mode during practice time.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Classical Eclectic
This style of Hatha Yoga integrates instructor creativity with techniques borrowed from more formal styles. By blending styles and focusing on the needs of students, each session is a unique practice. Postures are generally held for 30-90 seconds. Appropriate for students at any level.
Gentle Eclectic
This class is similar in style to Classical Eclectic classes, yet the practice tends to be more gentle in nature, utilizing more props and more relaxing poses. Appropriate for students at any level.
Basic Eclectic
Similar to the Classical Eclectic style, Basic Eclectic classes typically focus on teaching asanas (poses) found in most "beginner level" classes. Over time, students learn to deepen physically and mentally into poses they are familiar with. As this class is taught in the early morning, it is a great "Wake-me-up" practice. Appropriate for students at any level.
Ashtanga, Primary Series
The first of the Ashtanga series of postures. Semi-aerobic in nature, this class is faster paced to build and maintain body heat thus allowing for greater range of motion more quickly. Each class follows a specific order of flowing asanas (poses), which are typically held for 1-5 breaths. The only 2-hour primary series class in the East County! We suggest that students be familiar with basic postures and relatively fit.
Vigorous Vinyasa & Rigorous Ropes
This class warms up with a progressive series of Sun Salutations including many variations. The second half of the class consists of creative rope work to deepen the benefits of poses. Each week a yoga sutra is read at the beginning of Shavasana. Class is most appropriate for students with a fair to high fitness level.
Restorative
Begin, or deepen your yoga practice by cultivating and refining more subtle ways to surrender tension. Supported (with blankets & blocks, etc.) and more passive poses allow a balance of your body and mind as you learn to let go of stress and cobwebs of resistance. This class is the most physically effortless class and thus provides the benefits of yoga while replenishing energy. Classes are appropriate for those recovering from injury or in need of meditative relaxation.
Pilates-Yoga
The first 2/3 of this class focus on core strengthening and breathing techniques formulated by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th Century. A deep focus on bodily alignment and breathing is practiced as is the concept of "moving with awareness". Typically the last 1/3 of the class is a cool down and relaxation with gentle, restorative yoga postures. Appropriate for students at any level.
Yoga Therapy Workout
This restorative based class allows each student to focus on and work specific areas of the body and mind during their practice. A mixture of standing, seated and restorative poses are practiced. Great class for rehabilitating from injury or for anyone new to yoga.
Pre/Post Natal
This class is designed specifically for women before, during and after pregnancy. Postures are modified to provide for comfort and safety as the body changes. A deeper connection between mother and child occurs as both are nurtured during practice. This is also a great place to meet other mothers-to-be in a peaceful, bonding surrounding.
YTT Workout
This class is offered for students enrolled in YogaWell's Institute of Progressive Therapies Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) programs. This session is designed to allow YTTs the opportunity to teach, modify and provide hands-on adjustments to other students, as well as to gain an incredible amount of indepth information on all aspects of yoga. Students will be informally quizzed on many aspects of their training. We also offer this session to prospective YTTs and the general public for $18. If you sign up for the YTT program the cost will be waived.
